SDA Mens Ministries

Welcome to the Men’s Ministries Page @ HHSDA.com

Men’s Ministries at Hacienda Heights strives to bring the men of our congregation closer together with the common bond of the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. With that common bond, we each have our own chosen occupations or professions. Included in our ranks is a car mechanic, an occupational therapist, an audio-visual expert, a registered nurse, a retired electrician, a cabinet maker, a fork lift driver, a motorcycle cop, a water and power lineman, a computer wizard, an accountant and a minister or two, as well as other vocations represented.

As individuals, we are faced with the same challenges of sinful man on earth. We struggle with esteem issues, marital challenges, parenting issues, life as a single never-been-married, being a single parent with only weekend visitation, financial problems, the issues of aging parents, the curves that can be thrown in vocational and employment situations and trying to keep our heads above water with these various aspects of life.

Together as a group of men, we endeavor to identify how Christ would have us live. Each of us brings experience to the group which can be shared with each other. In that sharing can be discovered solutions and strength to carry on. Whether it is breakfast together on Sunday morning, watching a movie that challenges us to make Jesus first, eating homemade soup, sitting through a month-long marriage seminar or going to the ball game, we do it together. And as we do these different things together, we become more comfortable with each other thereby softening the mask that each of us has on. Then some level is trust is built and we can share our individual experiences that may bring encouragement to another in the group. In all of our group activities, the central theme is growing in Jesus Christ.

Men’s Ministries is not an exclusive club. Church membership automatically makes one part of the men’s ministries group. Additionally, effort is made to include any man who wants to be welcomed into any activity that takes place. We even include women in some of our activities as well.

Obviously as only one person, the leader of men’s ministries cannot be aware of all the needs that are out there. Any man (or woman) is encouraged to contact the leader with ideas or concerns.
